20" X 26" Retirement Box

A close-up of the bottom corner shows the walnut trim nicely.

  To the left is an 18" X 24" oak retirement box with three walnut plugs on each side of the mitered corners.  It could very easily have had oak plugs covering up the screws, and looked excellent.  In this case, however, the walnut plugs were wanted as highlights.  Removing the plugs that cover up the screws on the underside allow removal of the glass in the event it breaks or cracks.  Very attractive I think.  A keyhole slot in the back acts as the hanger.
